Speaking as a Scottish person, please don’t group us is with the English “Good, because I wouldn’t want a nation of troll-toothed, inbred, tea-drinking cowards to get the wrong idea about the States.”. i mean, i do enjoy tea (fyi, trolls don’t exist ) I don’t think Scottish peeps can be called cowards in any way, apart from a select few of course.

I have personally lived in the states. the way i see it is, everywhere is just as bad as anywhere else if you stay long enough.

I think you’re a bit misguided (pardon the understatement). First off, if you hate it so much, move. Secondly, they’re not all fat, although I must admit that on volume you’ll see more of it. Thirdly (general remark), the main problem the US has is its government and the kind of things it gets up to in their name. A bit like the UK. Only voters can change that, with one small problem: the US will have to fix a totally fraudulent voting system first..

@Ash: You noticed a few Europeans were giving you bad looks, so you assume that ALL Europeans are anti-American. Funny how when I visited Europe, I don’t recall a single such look. Even if they do hate us, hating them for hating us would just cause a cyclic escalation of hatred, besides, they might have a reason. There are stupid people in every country so don’t single out just their idiots.
Oh, and as a side note, don’t be a hypocrite and say that they should know our history better than we know theirs.

We dont do huge in depth studies on other countries in school. Most of our lessons would consist of Country -> Major politcal figures -> Main product or labour. We learn these things about ALL countires, not just our own or our neighbors, most of us who don’t live in the USA simply don’t need to learn about each individual state. As to knowing about New Jersey but not Maryland, do YOU know where the troops where based for the British civil war? What the main reason for them being there was? Or what happened to Cromwell after? No because you don’t need to, its just trivia to anyone not living in that country and not really usefull. Try not to take a comic to heart, its there to provoke amusement not anger and its mainly satirical, sure you have had press about the obesity rate but tbh thats a relief for most people as many of us grew up watching American tv and most of the shows that reach us portray all Americans as super thin, intelligent and physically perfect so its nice to see your just like the rest of us. Yeah we take the piss out of Bush but come on, he does look like a monkey! While you had a president that appeared to be amazingly thick 99% of people know this doesn’t represent the country as a whole nor do his crazy ideas or warmongering. The first step is to understand the other sides humor, after that we can all laugh together
