Ya, this is interesting but stupid. You use the term “religion” far to generally here and don’t bother to consider that not all organized religions have the same views on sex, torture and oral sex from small boys.
idejmcd: He didn’t say that all religions have to partake in each of these “sins”. Just like someone can be lustful without being greedy, not all have to be present in one person or group.
hmm, all these are… common to all people. Don’t fool yourself either as being “better”… The point is there is 0 need for propaganda such as this unless you really do not want to be taken serious.
All religions should be held up to equal ridicule as they are all expressions of delusion…let us not say that any one of them have a shred of credibility.
No, they most definetely are not: (I’ll summarize some easiest to explain)
1) Most people don’t give a f**k if somebody else is hedonistic or not
2) Hypocritics are laughed at everywhere exept in church. Hypocrisy is so inbread in every religion that it won’t work, in practise, without it. “You may do whatever you want, but don’t get caught”.
3) Scientific blindness is a signature of any religion, also anything that might rock the boat is strictly forbidden: No more Luthers in modern religions.
I know this comic was in jest, and I’m not offended, but I wish people would realize that what “religious” people believe/do/say does not always represent what individual adherents do. I’d be the first to admit that “religious” people have done or said the things in this comic at times, yet I speak as a “religious” person, without falling into most of the stereotypes you portray. As for science, your average persons who happens to be “religious” is about as qualified to talk about science as your average scientist is to talk about religion. The result of that is that a lot of religious people think scientists are crazy (without even understanding the topic at hand), and a lot of scientists think religious people are idiots (based solely on the few that are). Neither is universally true, and it would be nice if more people realized that. (on both sides)
I don’t want to get into an argument, but I see a lot of that attitude on the Net, and having some experience on both sides of it, I wanted to get that out there.

It isnt meant to be taken seriously, see comedy.

Well said, i fall in to the science group but don’t see religion as a bad thing, it helps a lot of people live better lives and (sometimes) be kinder to their fellow man. I only disagree on creationism and intelligent design, this is because i think that if there is some form of creator then i doubt that humans where the whole point of creation, chances are we are just a side product of some thing it isnt possible to understand (like humans where created so that the Italians could make a bride for the lonely flying spaghetti monster) so neither creation nor intelligent design applies.
There are SEVERAL varieties of Arab in the Middle East, and none of them get along well with any of the others. Didn’t the British learn this after World War II?

This, of course, would not apply to the one true God: the flying spaghetti monster. Long live the FSM and his chosen people, the pirates!

Obviously, the better part of this comic was wasted on the ignorance of the Internet’s residents. I found it funny as hell…
get it?

religion?
hahahah! Funny as hell…I kill me…
Excellent work, Mr. Grey….well done, sir.

The “Intransigence” one is my favorite.
