Let's go ahead and break this down: 1) We were created...Scientific and Religious fact. We have free will...Scientific and Religious fact. --- The only way anything can be worshiped is through Free Will choice and all negative human interaction (i.e. murder, theft, etc...) is a result of free will choice of one human over another.
So, we have a Creator and a Choice. Choose wisely! Or just turn on the XBox and play Modern Warfare II till the thought goes away (it works, I've done it)...

I think that Christians tend to be so vocal and dogmatic about their faith because that's the way they were brought up. It doesn't NEED to be that way, and in point of fact the same can be said of Islam.

I am, for the record, a nondenominational Christian. I try to live my life by the following philosophy: Treat others as you would have them treat you.

I also firmly believe that evolution is not only possible, but has been happening since the first bacterium appeared some 3 1/2 billion years ago.

Christians, I feel, could be a LOT happier if they noted one simple truth: God didn't write the Bible; humans did. The same dumb, panicky, dangerous animals (to steal a quote from "Men In Black") which effed up God's creation so badly that He damn near destroyed the whole thing.

Maybe we should have a contest. Is God real? Let's all pray a prayer and see what happens? If God is real, I don't think Christians need to defend him. He is omnipotent enough to do that himself. If by some crazy querk, He actually exists then that means we aren't the centre of our universe, and there may be a life form cleverer than us...which would mean maybe we would have to have faith rather than insist that we have to 'understand' everything before we could possibly believe....? Life is complicated and things happen we don't understand, whether we believe in God or not.

Sigh, the old science verses religion debate. Can't people accept the pact that they're compatible? (Yes, I know some of you can, in fact, I'd go so far as say that most people can, it's just those who can't are the loudest.
